Planning To Attend?
Here are some frequently asked questions.

 

1. When is the Event?

Saturday, July 9, 2022
Truro Amateur Athletics Club Grounds,
57 Golf Street, Truro.
12:30 pm (AST) Parade | 1:00 pm (AST) Ceremony

This is an outdoor event. Please be sure to dress accordingly (ex. light clothing material, hats, sunglasses, etc.).

2. Is this event open to the public?

Yes this is a free public event. All welcome!

3. How many people will be in attendance?

Large crowds are expected in attendance. There will be high traffic volumes, street closures, alternate routes, and parking challenges. Give yourself plenty of travel time gates open at 11:30 am. Consider taking one of our community buses or car pooling.

4. Where are the public parking locations for the event?

Public parking locations include:
– Truro Mall (next to Winners), 245 Robie Street**
– Truro Toyota, 310 Prince Street
– Truro Dooly’s, 50 Juniper Street

** There will be shuttle from the Truro Mall parking lot to the event from 11:00am until noon.

5. Will there be accessibility parking available?

Yes. There will be accessibility parking and accessibility drop-offs along Golf Street. Please make sure you have the accessibility parking ID present.

6. Can I watch this event on TV?

You can watch the event on Eastlink Community TV and many Community Stations across Canada. Check you local listings. Broadcast starts at 12 noon – Atlantic Time

7. Where can I watch the event online?

You can watch the event at www.no2-cef.ca. (this Website) Live stream starts at 12 noon – Atlantic Time

8. What streets are closed for the event? What time are they closing?

  • Prince Street will be closed as follows: Zion Baptist Church to Golf St. (12:15pm to 1:00pm)
  • Hampstead Crt to Gold St. (12:15pm to 3:00pm)
  • Golf Street will be one way all day, South to North controlled access only from Smith Street.

9. Where can I watch the parade? What is the parade route?

The parade can be watched from the Truro Amateur Athletics Club Ground seating or along side of Prince Street. The parade starts at the Zion Baptist Church and ends at the Truro Amateur Athletics Club Ground.

10. Will there be any vendors on site selling water or food?

The closest location is the Atlantic Superstore on 26 Elm Street (approx. 800m). We suggest bringing your own food and water to have on hand. There will be free water stations present and a light reception following the event.

11. What happens if it rains?

Our wet weather location will be the Rath-Eastlink Arena in Truro. Visit www.no2-cef.ca for more details the day prior to the event.
